5x 3ft White USB Cable Data Charging for Apple iPod Nano / Touch / iPhone 4/4S
Is this the part I need?
-Fix iPod Video 60GB sad fave
-Fix iPod Video 60GB clicking
-Fix iPod Video 60GB sync issues
-Fix music skipping on iPod Video 60GB
If your iPod Video 60GB shows a sad face support screen, it's likely the result of a failed hard drive. The hard drive may also need to be replaced if your iPod randomly skips songs or has sync errors.
A good way to tell if your iPod Video 60GB hard drive has gone bad, is by putting the back of the iPod up to your ear on boot-up, and listening to the HDD spin up. A normal drive spins smooth, while a bad drive may click, scratch, or be very noisy. If you have the symptoms of a bad hard drive and can confirm the drive is not spinning smooth, there is a good chance the hard drive needs replacing.
This is a fully tested used Toshiba 60GB hard drive. The model is MK6008GAH which is the OEM drive used in the iPod Video 60GB.
Over the years we have sorted through hundreds of manufacturers to build an offering of the highest quality parts on the market. Feel confident in your purchase knowing that you will get maximum longevity from this iPod Video 60gb hard drive!
Hard Drive Upgrade
The hard drive for the iPod Video 60GB model CANNOT be upgraded due to compatibility issues with the motherboards on-board memory. To upgrade, you would need to also replace the logic board with the iPod Video 80GB 5.5G board, Part No. 820-1975-A.
Downgrading is always an option too. The lowest replacement for any iPod Video hard drive is the Toshiba MK3008GAL 30gb hard drive, which is the iPod Video 30gb OEM HDD. The downgrade will be a single-platter hard drive which is compatible, however, you will need to fill the excess space inside the casing with some type of shim (cotton?).
Compatible Models: iPod Video 60GB/80GB models
Connector Type: Flip-up/down locking latch that holds slide-in hard drive cable.
Formatting: With the drive installed, connect your iPod to iTunes and click the restore button. The iPod software will automatically be installed onto the drive.
Data: You will lose all data from your iPod when replacing the hard drive.
