so far i've replaced 3 ipad digitizers and this tool is a must have. in fact, i'd recommend 3 or 4 of them for the ipad. the other plastic "scratch-safe" opening tools are ok, but only after you have separated the digitizer from the ipad. the sharp edge on the plastic tools breaks too easily
